Corps Commander visits flood affected areas
SUKKUR, Aug 14: Corps Commander, Lieut-Gen Shaid Iqbal visted Jacobabad, Kandh Kot, Kot Sabzal , Sukkur, Pano Aqil, Hyderabad and Kotri Barrage to raise the morale of troops deployed for Flood rescue and relief operations on the eve of Pakistan’s Independence Day.
According to a press release, issuued by ISPR on Saturday, the Corps Commander directed the troops to further gear up efforts and perform this task as a national duty. He emphasized the need of coordinated efforts and close liaison inter and intra agencies to mount a synergetic effort and instructed whole hearted support and assistance to the countrymen in distress.
Briefing the Corps Commander, General Officers Commanding of Hyederabad and Pano Aqil Major General Shaukat Iqbal and Major General Nasrullah Tahir Dogar informed that relief and rescue is being done through boats , vehicles and Army helicopters. Relief includes, supply of food , water , bedding, fentage and medicines. Cooked food is also being provided to the maroorred people. Besides this Army doctors alonwith Govt. of Sindh health departmentt are providing medical treatment . The Corps Cammander commented though the task is challenging but the dedicaton and steadfastness of Soldiers enable them to serve the population tirelessly. The Army troops are putting in their best to ensure swift execution of relief oprations ,says an ISPR press release.
