ISLAMABAD, Aug 14: Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Saturday appealed to affluent people of the country to donate for more than 13.8 millions of people, who got affected by devastating flood – wreaked havoc the entire infrastructure and crops.

Addressing to media persons after laying floral wreath at the memorial of police martyred at Aabpara, the minister said,” we are passing through the most critical phase of the history. It is my appeal to every strata of society to join hands against crisis, particularly of terrorism, which is posing manifold threat to the future of the country.”
It is, he said, a mark of satisfaction that we are remembering the martyrdoms of nation today (Independence Day). “The Prime Minister has rightly been pointed out that the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam had founded Pakistan, and we have saved it (from calamities)”, he said.
Rehman Malik hailed the role of PML-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif who is head to head with the Prime Minister in launching campaign for flood-relief victims in all four provinces – as a remarkable gesture that nation is united at the time of worst-ever crisis of the history.
On the occasion, he formally announced “Hilal Jurat” to acknowledge heroic struggle of Inspector General of the Frontier Constabulary (FC), Sifwat Ghayur, who was martyred in a suicide attack in Peshawar.
He also reiterated that the government would provide jobs to the dependents of all those police officials, who laid their lives during struggle against terrorism.
Answering a question regarding blockage of Geo News channels, he assured that the government has no intention to block the broadcasting of any channel. He, however, expressed that there are reportedly a level of misunderstanding between cable operators and channels owners, leading to emerge the sad situation. He said that he would direct the Inspector General Sindh to resolve the issue on priority.
