PN relief operations continue in Sindh

KARACHI, Aug 14: The search and relief operations by Pakistan Navy rescue teams are continued in the flood-hit areas of Sindh.A Pakistan Navy statement here on Saturday said that till to-date the total number of evacuation by PN rescue teams has reached upto 67,000.These people have been rescued from Sukkur, Rohri, Panu Aqil, Ghotki, Khairpur, Kandhkot, Shikarpur and various other places to safer locations.

Apart from this, Pakistan Navy has provided 34,500 kilogram food and relief goods to flood victims through helicopters.
During last 24 hours, PN relief teams rescued 9,000 persons. PN helicopters winched 60 persons and 750 people were evacuated by hovercrafts during long range rescue operations in Ghouspur and Khairpur areas.
PN helicopters also air-dropped 7,000 kilograms of food and relief goods in Thal, Tangwani, Mirpur and Khairpur areas.
Furthermore, 5,000 kilograms ready-to-cook packaged food, 4,600 kilograms dates and 6,000 Kilograms food are being dispatched to Sukkur.
Additionally, 5,000 kilograms food is also being arranged for flood victims.
