Pakistan Emerging as Global IT Hub, Says Sindh Minister Ali Rashid
Waqar Naseem Wamiq, Riyadh – The Pakistan Investors Forum hosted a reception in Riyadh in honor of Sindh’s Provincial Minister for Information Technology, Ali Rashid. The event was attended by diplomatic officials, IT professionals, and business leaders.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Ali Rashid stated that Pakistan is rapidly emerging as a major global IT hub, with the Sindh government taking initiatives aligned with international standards. He highlighted that 35,000 young people have already been trained through Google’s educational programs, forming a strong foundation for Pakistan’s IT future. He emphasized that the younger generation must benefit from modern knowledge and technology, assuring that the government is providing full support in this regard.
Community Welfare Attaché of the Embassy of Pakistan in Riyadh, Sayed Aziz, noted that under Saudi Vision 2030, numerous IT and digital technology projects are underway in the Kingdom, offering vast opportunities for Pakistani experts and companies.
Forum representative Fahad Ali Siddiqui remarked that the government’s positive policies and clear direction in the IT sector are yielding encouraging results.
Other speakers, including Forum President Ghulam Safdar, Vice Chairman Khalid Raja, and Secretary General Zafar Javed, also addressed the reception. They stressed that enhanced cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in the IT sector will not only expand business opportunities but also open new avenues of employment and development for the younger generation.
