Colorful Sindhi Cultural Day Marked in Riyadh

 

Waqar Naseem Wamiq, Riyadh — The Saudi capital Riyadh witnessed a lively and colorful celebration of Sindhi Cultural Day, organized by the Indus Cultural and Social Forum. The event attracted a large number of Sindhi men and women, who highlighted their heritage by wearing traditional Ajrak and Sindhi caps.

Renowned Pakistani singer Deeba Sehar, along with celebrated artist Ali Gul Mallah and local performer Naeem Sindhi, captivated the audience with soulful renditions of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai’s poetry and traditional Sindhi folk songs. Their performances created a festive atmosphere, further energized by the youth presenting traditional dances.

The ceremony was attended by Muhammad Shafiq, First Secretary of the Embassy of Pakistan, as well as Ghulam Qadir Mallah, President of the Indus Cultural and Social Forum, Zeeshan Qazi, Zahid Mian Bhutto, Hafeez Sheikh, and other notable figures.

Speakers underscored that Sindh represents an ancient civilization and a rich cultural legacy. They noted that Sindhi Cultural Day has become an effective platform to showcase Sindh’s vibrant traditions not only in Pakistan but across the globe, thereby promoting Pakistan’s positive image internationally.

Participants emphasized that the celebration fosters cultural harmony and strengthens the identity of the Pakistani diaspora, presenting Pakistan’s diverse and dynamic traditions on the world stage.
