Islamabad (Pakistan News dot com dot pk)The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has made it mandatory to register all SIMs in the name of the user and sim ownership is mandatory for safety of telecommunication users .
According to private TV channel Geo News, the PTA has declared it against the law for users to register all SIMs in their own name and use SIMs registered 0n someone else’s name or someone else is official sim owner.
According to the PTA, the full responsibility for misuse of the SIM will lie with the registered user, and the man who is registered owner of sim card will be responsible for the use of their SIMs and telecom connections themselves.
The PTA says that compliance with the regulations on the use of calls, messages and data is also mandatory, while legal action can be taken in case of violation.
