Basant holidays, 5 days’ vacation announced from February 4 to February 8

 

Lahore (Pakistan News dot com dot pk) The Punjab government has announced 5-day special holidays in provincial capital, Lahore from February 4 to February 8, including the city’s traditional festival Basant along with other national days.

According to the Punjab government’s announcement, the holidays will begin on February 4 with Shab-e-Barat, while February 5 will be a national holiday on the occasion of Kashmir Day. After this, Basant celebrations will be held from February 6 to 8, thus giving citizens 5 consecutive days of holidays.

Schools, colleges and government offices will remain closed during these holidays so that citizens can participate in Basant celebrations and spend time with their families.

According to the city administration, the purpose of the long holidays is to respect Lahore’s cultural traditions, provide recreational opportunities to the public, and promote social activities.

Various events and programs are being organized to celebrate Basant in a safe manner, including music concerts, kite flying competitions, and community activities.
