Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Visits Sundas Foundation, Undergoes Thalassemia Diagnostic Test
Islamabad (Pakistan News)The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, Mr. Khazar Farhadov, along with his spouse, visited the Sundas Foundation Islamabad Centre, where he underwent a thalassemia diagnostic test through Electrophoresis. On the occasion, the Azerbaijani Ambassador appreciated the medical facilities and welfare services being provided by the Sundas Foundation for children suffering from thalassemia and hemophilia.
During the visit, Director Sundas Foundation Islamabad, Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Aftab Hussain, briefed the Ambassador on the Foundation’s services, including treatment of thalassemia and hemophilia patients, free blood transfusion facilities, modern diagnostic services particularly thalassemia electrophoresis testing and public awareness campaigns.
Speaking on the occasion, Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Aftab Hussain said that the Sundas Foundation has been providing free treatment, blood and diagnostic facilities to children suffering from thalassemia and hemophilia for several decades. He added that promoting carrier screening to prevent thalassemia is among the Foundation’s top priorities. He further stated that under its mission to make Pakistan thalassemia-free, the Sundas Foundation offers free thalassemia testing and conducts special awareness campaigns across the country.
He noted that the participation of international diplomatic personalities in such initiatives sends a positive message and helps raise public awareness about thalassemia prevention.
Ambassador Khazar Farhadov stated that the Sundas Foundation is not only a commendable example of humanitarian service in Pakistan but also across the region, providing hope and support to thousands of families. He expressed his commitment to further strengthening cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan in the fields of welfare and humanitarian assistance.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Azerbaijani Ambassador paid tribute to the Sundas Foundation team and extended his best wishes for their noble mission.
