Karachi (Pakistan News) The death toll in a horrific Karachi traffic accident on Motorway M-9 near Kathore has reached 14.
According to the police, the accident took place near Ansari Bridge when a speeding passenger bus came onto the road from the wrong way and collided with an oil tanker coming from the opposite direction. As a result of the collision, several other vehicles were also hit and severely damaged, 13 people were killed and 6 were injured in the accident, People sitting on the roof of a passenger coach that was hit fell off the bridge.
According to rescue officials, another child injured in the accident died during treatment. The deceased child was identified as 3-year-old Imran, after which the number of people who died in the accident has reached 14, while 5 injured people are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
The 12 people who died in the accident belong to the same family and in this regard, the police say that the bodies will be handed over to the relatives after legal proceedings.
According to the relatives, the deceased had come from Kotri to attend a wedding ceremony in Karachi’s Shah Latif Town. The accident occurred on their way back from the wedding ceremony.
