WhatsApp hacking complaints increase
Islamabad (Pakistan News) More than 150,000 complaints of unauthorized access to data and WhatsApp hacking were received in Pakistan during the past year. The NCCIA conducted 1,032 inquiries but only one accused was arrested.
According to Samaa TV, the report submitted by the NCCIA to the Ministry of Interior stated that 157,465 complaints were received during the past year. Only 2,974 complaints of WhatsApp hacking and misuse were received, on which 1,032 inquiries were conducted, only one person was arrested.
According to the document, it has also been revealed that 35 websites were involved in the misuse and publication of Pakistanis’ data. 52 social media platforms involved in this scam were also identified. Fraudsters have come up with new ways to steal citizens’ data and hack WhatsApp. WhatsApp sharing codes are sent to citizens through fake calls or messages.
The method of extracting a user’s duplicate mobile SIM for WhatsApp hacking is also becoming common. Remote access software is installed in the phone by luring them with a job or reward etc.
After hacking WhatsApp, fraudsters demand money from the user. In addition to stealing sensitive data, financial fraud is also committed in the name of the user.
