US and Iran agree to two-week ceasefire in Pakistan’s appeal and mediation

Tehran, Washington, Islamabad (Pakistan News) The US and Iran have agreed to a two-week ceasefire in Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s appeal and mediation to the parties, and the parties have also issued statements in this regard.

US President Donald Trump has said that at the request of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, he is ready to postpone the planned attack against Iran for two weeks, provided that Iran opens the Strait of Hormuz immediately, completely and safely.

According to him, this will be a bilateral ceasefire, most of the points of disagreement between the US and Iran have been agreed upon, and the two-week period will help finalize the agreement, it is an honor for him to get closer to resolving this long-standing issue.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has said that safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be possible in the next two weeks, for which coordination with the Iranian armed forces and technical limitations will be taken into account.

Considering Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s brotherly request, the US’s desire for negotiations on the 15-point proposal, and the US President’s announcement to accept the general framework of Iran’s 10-point proposal as the basis for negotiations, I announce on behalf of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran that if attacks on Iran are stopped, our powerful armed forces will also suspend their defensive operations.’
