CTO Lahore orders crackdown against tampered number plates
Lahore (Pakistan News) on instructions of CTO Lahore Syed Abdul Rahim Sherazi A major crackdown has been launched against those tampering with the number plates of motorcycles and vehicles. he has ordered strict action against those using non-pattern number plates, vehicles without number plates, illegal green number plates and blue lights.
According to CTO Lahore, putting black paper on number plates to avoid e-challan, erasing numbers or year and changing the identity of the number plate are serious violations, for which heavy fines will be imposed. He said that not only challans but also cases will be registered against those using bogus and fake number plates, illegal green number plates and hiding the identity of the vehicle.
Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi says that lawbreakers and criminals resort to fake number plates to hide their identity, so any kind of tampering, fake numbers or unclear writing on number plates will not be tolerated and no excuse will be accepted.
The CTO Lahore clarified that putting fancy, name, community or unapproved number plates on motorcycles and vehicles will not be allowed, while no action will be taken against vehicles with clear number plates as per the prescribed excise pattern.
He added that the aim of this crackdown is to ensure law enforcement, prevent crime and make the protection of citizens more effective, while strict action against such vehicles will discourage lawbreakers.
