Saad Rafique Shares Story of First Meeting with Sher Afzal Marwat, His Expulsion from PTI

Lahore (Pakistan News online) Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique has shared the story of his first meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Sher Afzal Marwat and the latter’s expulsion from his party.

On the microblogging site X (formerly Twitter), Khawaja Saad Rafique wrote that “My first, coincidental meeting with Sher Afzal Marwat took place a few months ago in the Speaker’s chamber. Other members of the assembly were also present. He was leaving, and I was entering. After a handshake, I said to him, ‘If you don’t mind, may I say something?’ He replied, ‘Of course!’”

“I told him: When Imran Khan comes out of jail, the first person he will expel from PTI will be you. Less than two months later, I happened to run into Sher Afzal Marwat again while passing through Parliament Lodges. By that time, Imran Khan had already expelled him from the party.”he added.

The PML-N leader further stated that “As soon as we saw each other, we started laughing. Sher Afzal said, ‘Your prediction came true ahead of time.’ I asked, ‘How did it happen so quickly?’

He explained that his expulsion was the result of not joining the factional grouping between Imran Khan’s sister and wife.”
