SACF and DP World ILT20 Launch Strategic Partnership in Riyadh, Marking a New Era for Cricket in Saudi Arabia

 

Waqar Naseem Wamiq, Riyadh – The Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation (SACF) and DP World ILT20 officially launched their strategic partnership at The Ritz-Carlton, Riyadh. The ceremony was attended by HRH Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud, Chairman of SACF, Mr. Khalid Al Zarooni, Chairman of DP World ILT20, and Mr. David White, CEO of ILT20, along with distinguished guests from the sports, diplomatic, and media sectors.

This partnership supports SACF’s vision to position Saudi Arabia as a regional hub for cricket, aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 and the Quality of Life Program, as the Kingdom prepares for a landmark year in 2026.

The ceremony featured a panel discussion with global cricket personality Simon Doull and legend Waqar Younis, discussing pathways for talent development and strengthening cricket infrastructure nationwide.

In his speech, HRH Prince Saud bin Mishal highlighted the strategic significance of the partnership, stating:

“Our partnership with DP World ILT20 forms a cornerstone in building a professional and sustainable cricket ecosystem in the Kingdom. It enables greater pathways for Saudi talent, expands private-sector engagement, and accelerates our journey toward a world-class cricket landscape.”

His Royal Highness also emphasized the leading role of the Cricket Investment Company in driving professionalization, investment attraction, and infrastructure expansion.

A key milestone of this collaboration includes Saudi players joining ILT20 team rosters for the first time, along with future hosting of league events in the Kingdom.

Mr. Khalid Al Zarooni, Chairman of DP World ILT20, expressed his pride in the partnership, stating:

Mr. David White, CEO of DP World ILT20, also expressed his enthusiasm, stating:

He congratulated the Saudi players joining Season 4, expressing confidence in their professional development.

This partnership marks the beginning of a new phase of joint initiatives, including advanced player development programs, coach and umpire training, hosting ILT20 league matches in Saudi Arabia, and expanding community initiatives to promote cricket nationwide.
