CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Annouces 4 Consecutive Holidays

Lahore (Pakistan News Online) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has officially announced a long weekend in Punjab, bringing relief and excitement for residents across the province.

In a statement shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Chief Minister confirmed that February 5 will be observed as a public holiday on account of Kashmir Solidarity Day, followed by a provincial holiday on February 6 for Basant. With Saturday and Sunday falling immediately after, citizens of Punjab will enjoy an extended four-day long weekend.

CM Maryam Nawaz expressed hope that people across Punjab would utilize the holidays positively. “I hope the people of Punjab use this time to relax, rejuvenate, and make the most of these holidays,” she said in her message.

The announcement has been widely welcomed, especially by employees, students, and the tourism and hospitality sectors, which are expected to see increased activity during the extended break.

The Punjab long weekend announcement is already trending on social media, with many residents planning short trips, family gatherings, and recreational activities.
