Islamabad (Pakistan News) The British High Commission in Islamabad has announced that Pakistani ‎citizens will now be able to benefit from the new eVisa system for UK visit visas. Under this new ‎system, instead of affixing a visa sticker on the passport, applicants will be provided with a digital ‎confirmation via email.‎

According to the announcement, the application process will continue to be online, while it will be ‎mandatory to visit the Visa Application Centre for biometrics. Successful candidates will have a digital ‎record of their immigration status available through an online account, after which they will not need ‎to visit the centre again to collect their passport.‎

British High Commissioner Jane Marriott says that this move will facilitate Pakistanis visiting the UK for ‎tourism, family visits and business activities and will make the application process more convenient.‎

According to officials, there has been no change in the visa processing time, eligibility criteria or ‎conditions, applicants have been instructed to avoid visa agents and submit their applications only ‎through the official website.‎

It should be noted that the eVisa system was introduced last year for student and work visa holders, ‎while existing sticker visas will continue to be effective.‎
