In an interview, Hamid Mir himself revealed that he received his first salary of Rs 1,500 as a sub-editor in the daily Jang.
In the past, in a case of non-payment of salaries of journalists in the Supreme Court, Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar asked Hamid Mir how much salary he receives per month, to which Hamid Mir said that he has not received his salary for three months. To this, the Chief Justice said that the court has come to know that he receives a monthly salary of Rs 5.2 million, to which Hamid Mir replied that all these things are based on lies. Chief Justice Saqib Nisar told Hamid Mir that the court has records regarding his salary.
