Pakistani film ”Ghost School” selected for screening at Red Sea International Film Festival 2025

Jeddah (Pakistan News) Pakistani film ”Ghost School” directed by Seemab Gul has been officially selected for screening at the Red Sea International Film Festival 2025, the festival will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from December 4 to 13.

It should be noted here that Pakistan has been included in the Red Sea Film Festival for the first time through the efforts of Nousheen Wasim. The selection of a Pakistani film is a significant achievement for Pakistani cinema, highlighting Pakistan’s growing presence in the global film world.

Ghost School tells the compelling story of a rural girl whose school is mysteriously closed and rumors of supernatural elements spread in the village. Determined to find out the truth, she embarks on a journey that exposes deep social issues related to education, superstition and rural life.

The film has already garnered international attention, having had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year.

Ghost School has been selected for the Families and Children category at the Red Sea Film Festival and will be screened at Jeddah’s Culture Square on Wednesday, December 2 at 2pm and Thursday, December 11 at 3pm.

The selection of Pakistani films reflects the country’s commitment to bringing meaningful and socially relevant stories to light from around the world, and Ghost School stands out as a powerful story based on Pakistani social reality.
