Last month, while cleaning a road near a temple in Chennai, a street sweeper named Padma found a bag full of gold jewelry, which she picked up and handed over to the police.
The police found the owner of the jewelry and returned the bag to her. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu also gave a reward of one lakh Indian rupees to Padma, the street sweeper, for her honesty.
Padma’s honesty also made headlines, and impressed by it, South Indian film industry superstar Rajinikanth met Padma at his residence and gifted her a gold chain for her honesty. The actor’s team also shared the pictures of the occasion on the social networking website X.
