Pak Aus white ball series, Australia announces squad
Sydney (Pakistan News) Australia has announced its teams for the upcoming white-ball series against Pakistan.
According to details, experienced fast bowlers Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood have not been included in the squad. The three players will be rested so that they can prepare for the ICC World Test Championship campaign starting in August. Mitchell Marsh will lead the team in the absence of Pat Cummins.
Young players have been given a chance for the ODI series against Pakistan starting from May 30. Under-19 World Cup captain Oliver Peck and all-rounder Liam Scott have become part of the Australian squad for the first time. In addition, Riley Meredith and Billy Stanlake have also returned to the team.
Cricket Australia chief selector George Bailey says that giving new and young players opportunities in international cricket is part of the future plan. According to him, testing players in different conditions is essential for preparing for upcoming big events.
