Lahore (Pakistan news) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has decided to introduce Electric bike scheme for students on easiest installments.
According to the private TV channel “Express News”, an important meeting of the Transport and Mass Transit Department was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, in which a detailed briefing was given on the promotion of eco-friendly transport in Punjab, electric buses, e-taxis, e-bikes, e-three wheelers, mass transit projects and manufacturing industry.
The biggest revolution in eco-friendly transportation has come across Punjab, when more electric buses, e-taxis, e-bikes and e-three wheelers should be introduced simultaneously to promote green transport. In 5 years, 5,000 electric buses will be deployed to serve the people of Punjab.
Thanks to the business-friendly policies of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Punjab has also crossed the milestone of establishing the manufacturing industry of electric buses.
The assembly plant has started assembling electric buses in Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that Punjab is no longer just running buses, it is also making buses. The establishment of a new manufacturing industry in Punjab is an honor.
He again decided to introduce e-bikes for young students on the easiest installments. Students will be given 1 lakh e-bikes in 1 year. The Punjab government will give a subsidy of Rs 70,000 on each e-bike. Young students will have to make a down payment of Rs 14,000 to acquire an e-bike. Young students will have to pay only Rs 2,100 in monthly interest-free installments.

1500 buses will be operated in 91 tehsils of Gujranwala, Gujrat, Rawalpindi, Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, DG Khan, Faisalabad and Sargodha divisions. In the first phase, 1500 buses will be operated in 91 tehsils of Punjab.
PC-1 was approved for the purchase of 1500 electric buses at the tehsil level. The meeting was briefed on electric buses, Gujranwala and Faisalabad mass transit, e-taxis, Lahore SRT, electric bikes, command control center and Murree glass train.
