Asian Games, Pakistan Makes History by Defeating India 3-0

Nagoya (Pakistan News) In the men’s volleyball event of the 20th Asian Games currently underway in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, Pakistan displayed a magnificent and aggressive game, defeating arch-rivals India 3-0 in straight sets in a one-sided contest.

Thanks to this memorable victory, the National Team have reached the semi-finals for the first time in Asian Games history, a feat being hailed as a golden chapter in the history of the sport in the country.

In this crucial quarter-final clash, Pakistan employing brilliant strategy, solid defense, and lightning-fast smashes, gave the Indian team no chance to recover, clinching the match in straight sets with scores of 25-19, 25-23, and 25-18.

Murad Khan Wazir emerged as the top scorer with an outstanding performance, while Usman Faryad Ali, Hammad Irshad, Musawar Khan, and Afaq Khan also played pivotal roles in the victory through their excellent gameplay.

The leadership of the Pakistan Volleyball Federation has paid glowing tribute to the team for this clean-sweep victory over their arch-rivals and for reaching the semi-finals for the first time in history. Chaudhry Muhammad Yaqoob, Chairman of the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (and former IG Police), extended heartfelt congratulations to the national team and the entire nation on this historic victory, stating that the players have held the country’s head high globally through their extraordinary determination and courage.

Meanwhile, Sohail Khawar Mir, President of the Pakistan Volleyball Federation, also commended the players’ tireless efforts and congratulated the nation on the success, expressing hope that the national volleyball team would maintain this same resolve in the semi-finals and secure a medal for the country.
