CTO Lahore’s action, traffic inspector and constable dismissed
Lahore (Pakistan News) Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Rahim Sherazi has intensified the accountability process in the department and initiated strict action against officials involved in negligence, carelessness and corruption in their duties. A traffic inspector and a constable have been dismissed from their jobs after allegations of corruption were proven.
According to a statement issued by CTO Lahore, strict punishments have been decided against various officials after a departmental inquiry. The promotion of 06 wardens including a traffic inspector has been stopped for one year due to lack of interest in duties and absenteeism, while orders have been issued to stop the increment of 04 traffic inspectors and a warden for one year.
During the action, a traffic inspector has been demoted from the post of senior warden to the post of warden for two years due to his serious negligence.
CTO Lahore Syed Abdul Rahim Sherazi has reiterated his resolve to make the accountability process in the department more effective and transparent. He clarified that “lack of interest, negligence in duties and corruption will not be tolerated under any circumstances.” On the other hand, the traffic department is also continuing to encourage officials who have performed well.
Several traffic officials who facilitated citizens during their duty and responded promptly in emergencies have been awarded certificates of appreciation for their excellent performance. Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi has directed all field officers to closely monitor their subordinates and to treat citizens with courtesy while enforcing traffic rules.
