Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly’s dancer wife harassed, case registered
Mumbai (Pakistan News ) Donna Ganguly, wife of former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly, has filed a case for online harassment.
According to Indian media reports, famous dancer Donna Ganguly contacted Kolkata police on Friday after being subjected to derogatory comments and body shaming on social media.
She filed a complaint at the local police station, saying that she had faced online abuse and ridicule after her recent performance at the Kolkata Film Festival.
In her complaint, Donna Ganguly said that she has been associated with the dance industry for almost four and a half decades and has represented India at the global level.
However, the derogatory comments of a few social media users not only hurt her self-esteem but also affected her reputation as an artist.
She also referred to a specific Facebook page on which she shared pictures of her performances and used abusive and derogatory words.
According to the complaint, the page also made derogatory remarks about her weight. Donna handed over screenshots of the page and a mobile number to the police as evidence of her claim.
The police have registered a case against an unknown person on her request and have started an investigation.
Authorities are trying to reach the suspect with the help of the information provided and are likely to check the involvement of other people in the matter.
