Sahiwal (Pakistan News) Police raided the alleged forced marriage ceremony of a minor girl in Masso Colony and stopped the ceremony, bride father and groom got arrested.
According to the FIR, Yousafwala police received information about the marriage of a minor girl, on which the police took immediate action and raided the ceremony and stopped the marriage.
During the raid, the police party arrested the groom and the bride’s father and the groom Ahsan Ali, while the Nikah Registrar and other party members managed to escape from the scene.
Yousafwala police have registered a case on the complaint of the sub-inspector under the Punjab Children Marriage Act.
Police say that further investigation into the incident is underway while operations are being carried out to arrest the absconding accused.
