Karachi (Pakistan News) Following the increase in General Sales Tax (GST) on hybrid vehicles under the government’s new Auto Policy 2026-2031, Indus Motor Company has increased the price of the Toyota Corolla Cross HEV by Rs 1.3 million.
According to the company, the GST rate on hybrid vehicles has been increased from 12.5 percent to 25 percent, due to which the price of the vehicle has been significantly increased.
Toyota Cross price
The company has increased the price of the Corolla Cross HEV X by Rs 1.3 million, after which the new price of the vehicle has reached Rs 12.9 million, while its old price was Rs 8.9 million.
Similarly, the price of Corolla Cross HEV has been increased by Rs 1.314 million, the new price of the vehicle has been set at Rs 9.849 million, while earlier this vehicle was being sold for Rs 8.535 million.
This was reported by daily Pakistan, Earlier, GST was levied at 8.5 percent on hybrid vehicles below 1800 cc, while 12.5 percent was levied on hybrid vehicles above 1800 cc, however, after the implementation of the new Auto Policy 2026-2031, the tax on all hybrid vehicles has been increased to 25 percent.
According to auto industry experts, this increase in tax is likely to further increase the prices of hybrid vehicles, which will put an additional financial burden on consumers and may also affect the demand for eco-friendly vehicles.
