Pakistan Embassy in Riyadh Marks First Anniversary of Marka‑e‑Haq

Waqar Naseem Wamiq, Riyadh – The Embassy of Pakistan in Riyadh commemorated the first anniversary of Marka‑e‑Haq. The event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, local dignitaries, and members of the Pakistani community. The Commander‑in‑Chief of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), General (R) Raheel Sharif, graced the ceremony as the chief guest.

During the ceremony, a documentary highlighting the course of events during Marka‑e‑Haq was screened, followed by a presentation by Defence Attaché Brigadier Mohsin Javed, who shared key statistics and operational details related to Marka‑e‑Haq.

Ambassador Ahmad Farooq delivered a speech emphasizing the significance of Marka‑e‑Haq as a defining moment in Pakistan’s contemporary history that reaffirmed the courage of the Armed Forces, the resilience of the people, and the unity of the nation in the face of aggression. He paid tribute to the bravery, professionalism, and unwavering resolve of the Armed Forces in safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while stressing that Pakistan seeks peace, not conflict, and remains committed to dialogue, diplomacy, and regional stability.

The Ambassador also thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its constructive and timely role during the Pakistan‑India crisis last year and appreciated the Kingdom’s consistent support for de‑escalation, dialogue, and regional stability. He underlined that durable peace in South Asia cannot be achieved without resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and relevant UN Security Council resolutions. He also expressed concern over the weaponization of water and stressed that shared resources should serve as instruments of cooperation and confidence‑building rather than coercion and confrontation.

Concluding his remarks, the Ambassador reaffirmed that Pakistan stands for peace, dialogue, and regional stability.

The event ended with prayers for the prosperity, peace, and continued progress of Pakistan, as well as for lasting peace and stability in the region.
