Honeymoon murder case, accused wife granted bail
New Delhi (Pakistan News) Sonam Raghuvanshi, a resident of the Indian city of Indore, has been granted bail by the court in the honeymoon murder case of her husband Raja Raghuvanshi, her application had been rejected 3 times earlier.
The court has ruled that a major clerical error by the police has become the main reason for this decision. The court has imposed 4 conditions while granting bail, including ensuring attendance in court, not fleeing the country, not influencing witnesses and submitting a bond of Rs 50,000.
According to court documents, Sonam was not informed of the correct section of murder at the time of her arrest. The case was registered under Section 103 of the Indian Penal Code, 2023, but the arrest documents listed a non-existent Section 403(1), which is not included in this law.
The court said in its remarks that the same wrong section was written in all the official documents and nowhere was the accused formally informed of the murder charge. The court also rejected the argument that it was just a minor mistake because this mistake was repeated in every document. It was further revealed that during the initial appearance, Sonam did not have a lawyer, so she could not raise the objection in time.
It may be recalled that Raja Raghuvanshi and Sonam got married on May 11, 2025 and both went to Meghalaya for honeymoon. Raja’s body was found on June 2. Sonam is accused of planning the murder of her husband along with her alleged accomplice, while the other co-accused are still in judicial custody.
